Miso's Story

Miso is a roughly 3-year-old female calico who is spayed. She is an indoor-outdoor cat with a very shy and skittish personality.

Miso is slow to warm up to people and can be quite wary of strangers. She needs someone who is patient and willing to give her the time and space she needs to feel safe. She may initially keep her distance rather than seeking out attention.

Once Miso builds trust with someone, however, she has her own unique way of showing affection. She is affectionate on her own terms and may rub against you, sleep beside you, or occasionally sleep on top of you. She isn't necessarily an outwardly sweet or social cat, but she can form a strong bond with someone once she feels comfortable and secure around them.

Miso can be somewhat territorial and is accustomed to being the only cat, so she may need time and a slow introduction when meeting other cats. She also does best in a calm environment and can be uncomfortable around loud noises, excessive activity, or chaos.

Miso would do best with someone who understands shy, independent cats and is willing to let her relationship with them develop naturally. She needs an adopter who won't take her initial nervousness personally and who will allow her to approach and interact when she is ready.

Our adoption process begins with responding to inquiries within 24-48 hours and ensuring the adoption application is submitted. Once we receive the application, we check vet references and schedule a home visit. After the home visit is completed and approved, we arrange a meet and greet one on one between the potential adopter and the foster family to make sure its a good fit, either in person or virtually. If the adopter decides to proceed, they pay the adoption fee, sign the contract, and, if the pet’s vetting is complete, take the pet home the same day.
