Mira's Story

Mira is the smallest sister and possibly the most dramatic creature ever contained in such a tiny body. She has a white patch on her chest and a secret little white belly spot that only appears when she prepares for one of her signature dramatic belly rolls. Mira has many opinions. She is suspicious of people, her sisters, her mother, walls, movement, noises, and sometimes the general concept of existence itself. She will grumble about these injustices regularly — but once she has voiced her concerns, she usually settles down and carries on with her day. Unlike her more chaotic sisters, Mira prefers to sit back and observe before choosing the perfect moment to pounce into action. She’s clever, sassy, and convinced she is the one running the household. She is litter trained, a great eater, and full of personality. Mira needs a patient home that appreciates a spicy little lady with a strong sense of self and the potential to blossom into an incredibly rewarding companion. With a slow introduction she could be good with dogs.

Familiars Foster Network & Rescue's Adoption Policy
Familiars Foster Network & Rescue encourages an adoption process that matches pets with families through dialogue and conversation. We believe there is a sweet spot between a completely hoop-free process and a painstakingly invasive one. We do not conduct formal vet checks, landlord checks, home visits, or background checks - unless something in the adoption application is cause for concern at the discretion of the Adoption Coordinator. Instead, we work to communicate with and educate the potential adopter from a place of empathy and trust. This philosophy is backed by the ASPCA and Humane World for Animals (FKA The Humane Society of the United States). Our adoption process also empowers our fosters to make the final decision on if the applicant is the best fit for their foster animal based on those conversations and interactions.
