Mina's Story

Miss Mina was trapped in a project right before the horrible snowstorm. We are so glad we got her before she had to survive being outside in all that weather. We knew in the trap that she probably was not feral as she was head butting the side of the trap.

Mina is the friendliest cat you will ever meet. She loves everyone and has never met a stranger. She will crawl up in your lap if you are sitting down and she rolls over around your feet to get you to pay attention to her. She loves to be held and will sit with you for as long as you will let her. She comes running when she knows you are there.

Mina is very small and petite with big ears and a heart shaped face that looks like a cat from ancient Egypt. She is a very dark black with only a few white hairs on her chest.

Mina is good with other cats and could be introduced to a friendly, cat-loving dog. She has not been around dogs to our knowledge, however. She would also be good with cat savvy children as she likes to be picked up and carried.

Mina is about 1-2 years old, but looks like a kitten and probably will never get much bigger than the 5-6 pounds that she is now.

Mina has been spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, dewormed, treated preventatively for fleas and ticks, and tested negative for feline leukemia.

Mina is positive for FIV, but cats with this virus can live very long and healthy lives. FIV positive cats can live with non-FIV positive cats as the virus is only spread through very deep bites as occurs with fighting males or in utero from a mother cat to babies. FIV positive cats just need to be kept inside and given regular vet care to have happy, healthy lives.

For more information on FIV: https://www.vet.cornell.edu/departments-centers-and-institutes/cornell-feline-health-center/health-information/feline-health-topics/feline-immunodeficiency-virus-fiv

If you would like to know about Queen Mina, please email us for an application or more information at: bandocats@gmail.com
