Mimzy (Aka Xena)'s Story

Mimzy was rescued from the streets of Los Angeles in 2020. A fellow rescuer brought them in and put them in foster care to make sure the kitties were safe. She was adopted at 3 months old and was returned to us 5 months later because her previous owners said she was too shy with them and played too roughly with their current cat. 3 days after her return, Mimzy was adopted again. After 4 years in her home, she was brought back to us again because her owner was moving and did not take her. Mimzy has become very fearful as a result of her upbringing, and is looking for a very special home. Likely due to stress, Mimzy recently had a bladder stone. It was surgically removed, as it did not dissolve with therapeutic diets (as some bladder stones do). She has fully recovered from her surgery and is ready for her forever home! She will need to be on a prescription kidney diet long term to help mitigate the formation of new stones. This diet is not safe for cats who do not need it, so she will need to be fed separately from other cats in the home. Mimzy will require a quiet home with patient and experienced cat parents who will take the time to socialize with her. She will hiss or growl when first approached, but opens up after slow, gentle quality time. (Especially if you brush her!) We expect that after some time, love, and patience, that she will blossom into the loving kitty that she is. In her foster home, she has been comforted by the foster's resident cat, and we believe that she would love a home with another calm cat. However, this is not a necessity. If you think that you would be a good fit for Mimzy, please fill out an adoption application, or contact us with an inquiry.
