Mimosa's Story
Update Feb 17th - Mimosa is now at the Pet Valu, 115 Hamilton St N in Waterdown. She will need a few days to adjust to her new surroundings. Go pay this cutie a visit.
Feb 10th, 2026 - Mimosa is now ready to find her new home. Please read her bio, requirements for adoption and if you think she would be a good fit then go to avacats.org and fill out an online application form. An adoption co ordinator will be in touch.
Mimosa came to our rescue back mid November - she was a rural stray , very pregnant and needed help. She went to our vet who flea treated her, dewormed her , took an xray to determine her stage of pregnancy . She then went to a foster home to wait. She gave birth Nov 30th to 5 kittens and now that her mother hood is done, her kittens have found homes it is her turn. She went to our vet again , received another flea treatment, deworming, her FVCRP and rabies vaccines, spayed and microchipped. Her adoption fee is $250. She is now healed and looking for her new home. She is still a little shy but once she gets to know you she will sit on your lap, lay be side you in bed. She is not much of a fan of being picked up but most cats prefer to be on the ground. She does love looking out the window at the birds and squirrels. She would be fine as the only cat getting all the attention. It is recommended that she start out in a safe room with her food and litter until she adjusts to a new environment. She would not be suitable for a family with young children. She is used to a quieter home. AVA has an indoor and no declaw policy.
