MIMI's Story

MIMI
D.O.B. January 2nd, 2022

- Female
- Orange & White
- Domestic Long Hair
- Spayed
- Microchipped
- Dewormed
- Revolution treated
- Vaccinated for Rabies, FVRCP, & FeLV.
- Booster shots due January 16th-23rd are included in adoption fee

Mimi was trapped here on our property just after midnight on December 20th, 2023. At first, we assumed Mimi was a boy due to her orange coat on camera. She brilliantly evaded us for a few nights while she gently reached through the tiny grid bars of the trap, pawing at the wet cat food and licking at her paw. We watched her intently from our Kittycam, hoping desperately that she would just go inside. There were a few near passes, but she would outsmart us and get her fill before leaving.

We rejoiced when Mimi finally went inside the trap and caught her! She was covered in fleas and ticks, had no microchip, had a scabby nose, and an open wound that had a hanging scab. The area was cleaned and treated, and has been healing very well. (Our vet has since assessed and no futher treatment is needed.)

Sweet as can be, not a peep, very easy to handle, just terrified rapid breathing. Not much weight loss so we are thinking the dump happened when she was first spotted on the grounds. We suspected that she might be newly pregnant, but fortunately it was determined by our vet that she was not and her spay surgery was performed.

Mimi is an extremely timid loveable girl that doesn't mind being around other cats. She's very tiny under all of that gorgeous long fur. Extremely quiet and keeps to herself, she loves relaxing on the sofa where she can curl up and sleep. She doesn't mind being held, and will curl into herself and purr while being gently pet. She will snuggle and stay put on your chest or lap. She's so shy that she moves very slowly, so we know that she was not an escape artist and didn't just run outside. She was most certainly dumped here. :(

We haven't seen her play with toys much yet, but she sure enjoys lounging and watching her surroundings. She tends to prefer smaller spaces, and wedges herself between her litter box with her adorable fluffy paws hanging outside the cage bars even though she has plenty of space to sprawl out. (We give all of our caged kitties out-of-cage loving and playtime).

If you’re interested in adopting this sweetheart, please contact us for an adoption application.
