Millie's Story
Millie is a silly, slightly-spicy, borderline chonky kitty who is settling into middle age, but still loves to play! Don't let her resting-grumpy-face fool you... she's very affectionate and loves attention and would be a great companion for someone who doesn't want the chaos of kittens/young cats, but enjoys cat zoomies and silly personalities!

Millie showed up in a southwest Baltimore alley earlier this summer, snacking at the local feral cat buffet. She had a microchip, but unfortunately the registered owner didn't respond to any requests to contact. Through her microchip we know that she's about 5 years old and originally came from the Eastern Shore. How she ended up in a Baltimore alley is a mystery, and she's not talking!

She is serious about her naps, and likes to vary her sleeping locations according to her mood... laundry basket, bathroom sink, sofa, cat scratcher... but she's also quite playful and enjoys her zoomies. She loves all kinds of toys, particularly little ones that she can bat around.

She's a chatty girl who will talk to you throughout the day and will definitely ask for affection when she wants it. She likes cuddling with her humans on the sofa in front of the TV and will often sleep in bed with them at night, but she is independent and enjoys her alone time too. She does have a sassy side... she sometimes gets overstimulated during petting, and she'll let you know when she's done! (While she does love to roll over and show you her belly, it is DEFINITELY a trap!)

Millie has an old injury to her right eye -- her third eyelid protrudes on that eye, so she looks like she has a permanent wink. But it has been checked by a vet and is not a concern. She has normal vision in that eye and can fully close it, and everything seems stable so it shouldn't cause her any problems. She had previously been spayed, and has tested negative for FeLV/FIV and had her vaccines updated. The vet was particularly impressed with her very clean teeth... no dentals in this girl's immediate future!

While she wouldn't be a good match for a home with young kids, older kids who respect and know how to be gentle with animals should be fine. She has not been around dogs or other cats in her current foster home, but she could potentially live with other pets. Her preference would probably be for calmer feline/canine friends who will give her space, and she would need slow/gradual introductions.

Millie is in a foster home near Patterson Park in Baltimore City. She is not part of Walter Rescue but is being listed here as a courtesy.
