Mila's Story

Some cats are special the moment you see them, and Mila is one of them. With one dazzling blue eye and one vivid green eye, Mila has a rare condition called heterochromia, meaning each eye is a different color. Only about 1% of cats have this striking feature, making Mila truly one of a kind.

Mila's early life was far from easy. She was rescued from a heartbreaking hoarding situation with nearly ninety cats, a place where love and attention were scarce. She spent time at the Town of Hempstead Animal Shelter, uncertain of what the future held. In 2022, ARF Hamptons stepped in to give her and her best friend, Gavin, who has an adorable black heart-shaped nose, a second chance. A year later, they found a home together, only to return just over two years later when their owner could no longer care for them. Since July 2025, this resilient duo has been waiting patiently at ARF, longing to find a loving home where they can stay together and thrive.

Mila is ready for a forever home where someone will fall in love with her unique eyes, gentle heart, and quiet charm, ideally with Gavin and his heart shaped nose right by her side.
