Miel's Story

Miel was rescued from a Brentwood colony when a feeder saw that she was very pregnant. She entered the shelter system with her 5 kittens when the kittens were 12 days old and placed in a foster home.

Miel is a polydactyl cat with 22 toes. She is described as very sweet and loving and a great mom to her kittens.

From her foster:
She is an absolute darling. She enjoys being petted (even her face) and loves to be brushed. Shes a sucker for those Delectable Chicken treats.

She is gentle and loving. She would grab my hand while I fed her treats and she was so delicate about it. She has 22 toes but you cant tell she has nails on any of them.

She can be quite vocal and trills a lot. She is very expressive with her sounds and her face, it didn't take me long to figure out what she wanted when she would vocalize.

She doesnt mind being held, but she doesnt enjoy it.

She will play with toys and watching her unleash her inner kitten is so heartwarming.

She mostly laid around here, she was simply comfortable here.

The storms and fireworks did make her nervous, she didn't hide but wasn't relaxed. She would crouch down on the floor until it was over.

Miel doesnt mind my cat and lets the kittens play with her but Miel doesnt seem to think much of my cat otherwise. She coexists with the dogs but she swatted at them a couple of times when they got too close to her early on. She does fine with the boy dog and has started ignoring him now that the kittens are older, but the blind female dog walked into her once and Mama never got over that. There is no aggression from her towards the dogs, or vice versa.
