Michy (bonded with Oreo)'s Story
Meet Michy
Oreo and Michy are our black and white girly pops! Oreo's the younger one at just over six months and Michy is the older sister at almost a year old. These two girlies were super shy when they first came to HAP after being found in a local neighborhood. While they still are nervous when first meeting new people, they've really started to open up with a few trusted folks. Oreo is the still more reserved, shy one and Michy is starting to be the more playful and silly one between the two. While we're still working on building up their trust and confidence so we can get to know them better, one thing we do know for certain is these girlies loooovvveee their Churus - or really any snack but Churus especially! If you're looking for a duo that needs a quiet home to show them the world isn't such a scary place and will give them all the extra TLC they need, Oreo and Michy are the pair for you!

Oreo and Michy are spending some time in a foster in Rehoboth! Please contact Rehoboth at (302)200-7159 if you have any questions or want more information.

Oreo and Michy have been spending some time in a foster and here's what they've had to say: "Oreo and Michy have really started to come out of their shell! It did take a week or two for them to adjust to the new environment but as soon as they realized it wasn't as loud or busy as the shelter, they really started to explore. They love to play with each other, especially if chase is involved, and Michy will even groom Oreo like the best big sister she is! Michy is a sweet cat that's curious and playful once she gets over her shyness. She's usually the one to instigate play, tumble, or chase and she loves to play with her toys. Michy will lick the Churu paste right off your fingers and even play 'patty cake' and you know you're really in when she lays on your lap! Oreo is the curious and brave one at the house! She's seeking out affection with her favorites being long pets along her back and the ever popular chin scratches. Like Michy, Oreo loves her food and just like her sister, Churus are her favorite! After she's had her fill of playtime, Oreo likes to climb up on to the window sill and watch the birds and animals outside the window. The two girls have started exploring the rest of the house and have even started making friends with our current cats so I'm sure with some time and patience, they'd be fine living amongst other cats in the home. It's been a real treat seeing how far they've come and I'm sure they'll only continue to grow!"

Kittens require a significant amount of patience and training to learn how to behave
properly in a home. The first few months of having a kitten is a critical time to improve socialization and
help your kitten become confident. Exposing your kitten to all kinds of touch, sounds, people, and animals
can ensure a well-socialized adult cat. Remember, kittens aren't born knowing how to live in a human's
world, it is up to you to teach them how to make good decisions in a positive and caring manner. The
more positive interactions they have in their first year of life will set them up for better behavior in the
future.

If you are interested in adopting this cat, please submit an adoption questionnaire! Our adoption process
is on a first-come, best-match basis and we are not able to hold animals. If you are interested in this
specific cat but it ends up not being the best fit upon meeting, our adoption counselors will work with you
to help find a match! We may require all household members, including children, to come along for the
meeting to make sure it's a good fit. If a match is made, we encourage same-day adoptions! Our adoption
fees include the animals' spay/neuter, microchip, age-appropriate vaccinations and preventatives, and a
small bag of food to get you started.
