Michaelangelo? aka as Angelo for short . He spent around a year at our feed station with a ratty collar on . We assumed he was owned until we set up cameras and realized he wasn’t leaving , ever . He was there morning noon and night and slept in our shelters or under a tree in the yard. We decided recently to bring him in to our vet to get him thoroughly evaluated and ofcourse checked for a chip. For the first time ever a chip was found and even registered . The vet has made contact with the microchip company and so have we and they have given all of our information to the owner who to date has not been able to be contacted ? To our amazement he is a 15 YEAR OLD CAT! ?? Born May 11 2010. ? Other than ear infections, a uti ( have been treated ) and an old hematoma ( likely from frostbite - he is missing most of his one ear) he has checked out so well at the vet that they are scratching their head when it comes to his documented age . The chip company also has him described as a short haired cat. ?We are sad that he waited so long for help . The idea of any senior cat outside especially in the cold breaks our hearts . As the cold nights begin we are thankful that he will finally be inside warm and safe . We are hoping that he will be spending the holidays in a loving adoptive retirement home . We know he is good with other cats . Don’t know about dogs . Despite his funny grumpy expressions he is the happiest most affectionate old man you could ever meet . He talks and comes running when you call him . His age does not slow him down. He needs a warm lap and lots of love and spoiling . A retirement of a king is in order ?
