Mia was adopted out and then returned through no fault of her own, she is now ready to find a forever home! Mia is a playful and loving cat. She is a toy enthusiast, especially when it comes to string and wand toys. She could spend hours chasing, pouncing, and batting at them, bringing endless entertainment to her new family. When she's not playing, Mia loves to curl up in a cozy, quiet spot for a peaceful nap. Whether it's a warm blanket, a sunny windowsill, or a soft bed, Mia is all about finding the perfect cozy nook to relax in after a day of fun. When Mia came to us, we noticed that she was experiencing some allergies. To help her with this, she is taking a medication called Atopica which may or may not be required long term. Any changes to her medication should only be made in consultation with a vet. Mia is also eating Hills Z/D to help with her allergies. Any dietary changes should be discussed with a veterinarian. Mia's adoption fee is reduced to help cover the cost of their food at the time of adoption. Mia prefers to be the only cat in the household, so she'll do best in a home where she can have all the attention and space to herself. She's independent and confident, and would thrive with a loving owner who respects her need for some personal space. OUR CONTACTLESS ADOPTION PROCESS Thank you for your interest in adopting a pet from the Oakville & Milton Humane Society! In response to the challenges the shelter has been facing with COVID-19, we are limiting interactions between the public and our staff in order to help stop the spread. This means that interested adopters will not be permitted to view the animals in person. For those looking to adopt a dog or a puppy, an opportunity will be given to meet with the dog or puppy prior to adoption after a successful phone meeting with the best matched applicant. Introductions to any current dogs or puppies in the household will also be arranged to ensure the dog or puppy is a good fit for the family. The Oakville & Milton Humane Society strives to find great matches for both the animals and those looking to adopt them. The first step to finding that match is for you is to view the adoptable animals on on the following webpage: https://omhs.ca/adopt/ Once you have found an animal who you would like to adopt, please complete and submit an Adoption Application. Please only apply for one pet at a time (or two if you are looking to adopt a pair). Your Adoption Application cannot be processed unless you indicate which animal you are applying for. If you express interest in multiple animals, the Adoptions department will only be able to process for the first animal listed.
