Mervine Street Kittens's Story

The Mervine Street “Dessert Kittens”

These adorable kittens were rescued by the Public Works Department of the Borough of Pottstown on September 15, 2010. Their mom had picked a storm sewer drain along Mervine Street near Pottstown’s North End in which to give birth. Judging by their weights, ranging from 4.4 to 5.1 ounces, they were probably only a day old when rescued. We set a trap to try to get the mom cat, but an unscrupulous individual stole the trap overnight. The mom was never seen again.

The babies were hand raised, and despite the odds, they survived! We call them the “Dessert Kittens:” Cobbler, along with Streusel and Strudel (twins) are the males. Their sister is CremeBrulee.

Their litterbox habits are excellent. They’re well behaved (as much as you can expect from kittens) and very friendly.

Are they as sweet as their names imply? You betcha!
