Greetings, kind humans… I am Merlin. <br/>Yes, that Merlin… the orange and white wizard who somehow cheated death and turned rags into riches.<br/><br/>Not long ago, my story looked very different. I was outside in the cold, going door to door, begging someone, anyone, to let me inside. I was in terrible shape. I couldn’t even close my mouth, and honestly… things looked pretty grim. When the humans at the sanctuary heard about me, they came right away. That’s when my life began to change.<br/><br/>When I arrived, everyone was worried I might not make it. But then our amazing veterinarian discovered the problem: a giant sublingual salivary mucocele (also called a ranula). Big, fancy doctor words for something that made life really miserable for me. She performed a ranula marsupialization surgery… and just like that, the magic started working.<br/><br/>And guess what?<br/> I made it.<br/><br/>Now I’m healthy, happy, and living my very best wizard life. I’ve doubled my weight, my mouth feels wonderful, and I walk around the sanctuary with what everyone calls my permanent smile. Honestly, I’m just thrilled to be alive.<br/><br/>Let me tell you a little about the new and improved Merlin:<br/>• I love people and will happily meow to remind you that petting me is an excellent idea.<br/>•I am a lap cat extraordinaire. If you sit, I appear. It’s wizardry.<br/>• I adore catnip toys and rolling around like a happy little goofball.<br/>• Sunbeams? Yes please. I will bask like the royal wizard I am.<br/>• I get along with other cats, but I also wouldn’t mind being the center of a human’s universe.<br/><br/>Oh… and one very important thing about me…<br/><br/> I am a FOODIE. <br/><br/>We have treat dispensers here at the sanctuary, and I know the sound perfectly. I can hear it from across the room and will come sprinting like a fluffy orange comet.<br/><br/>After everything I’ve been through, I’m just so happy to love life… and I would love nothing more than to share it with a family of my own.<br/><br/>Trust me… once you meet me, you’ll understand why everyone falls in love.<br/><br/>You can meet me daily from 1–5pm to see if I’m meant to cast my spell on your family.<br/><br/> Merlin <br/>(Professional lap warmer, treat detector, and survivor.)<br/><br/>I am fully vetted: neutered, microchipped, FIV & FeLV negative, treated for fleas/ticks/and intestinal parasites, and up-to-date on all my vaccinations: distemper, rabies, and FeLV.
