Merida's Story

Meet Merida!

If you have followed us this past summer, Merida will be familiar. She was taken into care after a kind person found her on the side of the road, and quickly realized she was very pregnant.

As a baby herself (she is likely still just under a year old) she needed some help delivering her babies. She has since done an incredible job in raising her girls and is ready for her own home.

She has a bit of a sassy side, no doubt this is from the ginger in her! But she really is a sweet cat. She is very chatty and will chirp and trill all day.

She is VERY playful, and will jump right in there with her babies to play for hours.

She will do well in almost environment, as long as she has attention and a window to watch the birds and squirrels.

She is spayed, age appropriate vaccinations & microchipped.

Cambridge Homeless Cat Rescue's Adoption Policy
Potential adopters are required to complete an online application. Once complete, we contact their vet clinic for a reference. Once this is complete and during transfer, the adopters sign a paper contract outlining both ours and their responsibilities post adoption. We ask that cats not be permitted outdoors, no declawing and we ask that for any reason they cannot keep the cat, it is returned to us and not rehomed by them. We offer post-adoption counselling to help address any issues that may arise following adoption.

Merida is from Cambridge Homeless Cat Rescue

[Cambridge, ON]

Our Mission
Currently, there are estimated to be 140,000 homeless cats in Waterloo Region. Our goal is to reduce this number to zero by rehoming social cats and providing spay/neutering of cats being returned to the streets (TNR) thereby controlling the cat population.
