Meet Mercury! A little about Mercury: - She knows that good things take time, especially earning her trust! - She loves her people once she knows they're a safe space. Mercury would best enjoy a home that: - Is on the quieter side, to allow her to feel comfortable coming out of her shell at her own pace! - Allows her lots of space to play and eat yummy snacks. Mercury made new friends in foster! Here's what their foster family has to say! Mercury is very shy and timid at first, and loves a couple different quiet corners to adjust, and she does really well with one person as her main person. Once she decides she okay with you, she is very loving. She purrs and kneads like a professional baker! She can be talkative, likes crunchy snacks and toys balls to chase and zip around! Mercury is living in foster and not housed at KHS. Our Adoption Process Kitsap Humane Society uses a walk-up and queue-based first-come, first-served adoption system. To ensure the continued safety and well-being of staff members, volunteers, and the community, masks and social distancing are required on KHS property. View our Available Pets page and select a few that you would like to meet. Then download an Adoption Application and fill it out prior to visiting our shelter. Our adoption process is a walk-up and queue-based, first-come, first-served system. You will have a meet and greet with an Adoption Counselor to discuss your application, review information on the pets you would like to meet, and you will be introduced to the pet(s).If the Meet and Greet is a success, staff will complete your adoption paperwork to make it official! If your new family member is already spayed/neutered, they will go home with you right away! Location: 9167 Dickey Rd NW Silverdale, WA 98383 More About Our Shelter Kitsap Humane Society is a private, nonprofit animal shelter. We rescue and rehome over 6000 pets each year. All dogs and cats leave here spayed or neutered and with complete vaccines and a microchip. We have been caring for animals in need since 1908 and envision a time when all adoptable pets have loving homes. We are extremely proud of our exceptionally high “lives saved” rate of over 96%. Through our active adoption, behavior, foster, transfer, and veterinary programs, we are able to rehome every adoptable animal that enters our facility. No animal is ever euthanized for lack of space. In addition to caring for and adopting animals, we also provide spay/neuter services to low income residents of Kitsap County, and provide Animal Rescue and Enforcement services to our surrounding municipalities.
