Meet Mercury!<br/><br/>Mercury is a handsome 1.5-year-old black and tan tabby who may take a little time to show you his true personality, but we think he's well worth the wait!<br/><br/>Mercury came to us after originally being brought into rescue as a stray, so we don't know much about his life before then. He's still learning that people can be pretty great and, while he may be hesitant with someone new, he does warm up with time. Once he's feeling comfortable, he enjoys being pet and getting attention -- when he's in the mood, of course!<br/><br/>One thing Mercury is definitely NOT shy about is mealtime. This boy has a lot to say when he knows food is coming, and his very enthusiastic mealtime conversations are one of our favorite things about him.<br/><br/>Mercury does well with other cats for the most part, although he can occasionally be a little spicy with his feline friends. We think he could settle into many different types of homes, as long as his new family is willing to give him the time and space he needs to adjust.<br/><br/>Patience is one of the greatest gifts you can give a shy or fearful cat. Mercury may not be the kitty who immediately runs into your arms, but give him the chance to feel safe, get comfortable, and come out of his shell at his own pace. We think there's a pretty wonderful companion waiting underneath!
