Mercedes

Mercedes was found crossing a busy five-lane highway to eat out of a dumpster outside an auto parts store. After watching her avoid cars on the busy road, the employees at the store managed to trap Mercedes and brought her to FUR.<br/><br/>Mercedes is VERY shy, and takes a long time to get comfortable with new people. She loves other cats, and prefers to be around male cats, although she gets along with most friendly cats.<br/><br/>When Mercedes was being spayed, we discovered she had a condition called uterus unicornis, which caused her to be born with only one uterine horn. Her spay surgery was successful, but we also learned that her condition has mildly impacted her kidney function. She is on a special diet to help support healthy kidney function well, and with good care she can live a long and healthy life!
