Melvin's Story

Melvin is a loving old soul who has stayed sweet through everything life threw at him. He was abandoned in heartbreaking condition, but all he wants now is wet food, cozy naps, and somebody to love. His foster says, “He is so grateful for every little comfort, especially dinner time.”

At about 11 years old, Melvin is in very good overall health and would be a wonderful match for a senior household or anybody looking for a calm, affectionate companion. He wants his people all to himself, so he needs to be the only cat in the home. After everything he has been through, Melvin really deserves the kind of home that spoils him right back.

Melvin has tested positive for FIV (Feline Immunodeficiency Virus), a condition that suppresses his immune system. But he is a perfectly healthy cat, with no signs of being slowed down by FIV! Most cats with FIV live long, healthy lives with no symptoms at all. The virus is not spread to people or dogs. And it is not spread to cats through casual contact -- like sharing litter boxes, water and food bowls, or through snuggling, grooming, and playing.

"Take me home tonight:" Eddie Money & Melvin.

Melvin is about 11 years old, fully vet checked, neutered, UTD on vaccinations, treated for parasites, microchipped (with lifetime free registration), and fostered/ socialized in a loving family home. The works! Please call Wendi at (859) 394-4910 or Brittney at (513) 265-7293 if interested.
