MELON<br/>DOB: Approx. 05/09/2025<br/>Female, 6.5 lbs.<br/><br/>Melon is the pretty sweet and gentle little girl kitten of Lilys babies and sister to Speck, Piper, Finn & Benny. Born in a crumbling shed, this little sweet little darling is a gentle love bug that wouldnt have survived if she hadnt been saved. Her mother, Lily was just a kitten when she had Melon and her siblings and the building was falling down around them. Their start in life wasnt great but now Melon is building her confidence and standing up for herself with the other kittens. She is beautiful and is a truly gentle soul. She is a very sweet young teenager however she is very shy. <br/><br/>We are working with her to help build her confidence and get her comfortable being out and about with people. She really likes people she is just very insecure. She likes to be petted and follows her foster family around but is skittish. Because of this she will need a patient and understanding owner She isn't a cat that is used to being picked up and needs a slow calm understanding person/people to help her become comfortable and it will be a process. All pets are cared for in volunteer foster homes until they are adopted.<br/><br/>We require a home visit as part of the application process. We are only able to coordinate home visits where we have local volunteers.<br/><br/>All of the cats in our care and available for adoption have been rescued from shelters, the streets or from neglect or abuse situations. We do our best to determine the given breed or breeds of any cat or kitten in our program based on our experience and advice of professionals. <br/><br/>NOTE: PetPromise requires that young kittens be adopted in pairs unless you have an existing kitten or young cat at home. This policy is intended to ensure that the kittens we rescue, nurture, and love are adopted into homes that offer the best possible environment for their social development. Most rescue groups have similar policies regarding kittens. However, if you are interested in a particular kitten you may apply to adopt the kitten and once approved, you may enter into a Foster to Adopt Agreement whereby you agree to foster the kitten for PetPromise until PetPromise has the kitten fully vaccinated and spayed. Once the vet care is complete an official adoption will be completed.
