Melody's Story

Meet the Cats of Gettysburg at the Kitty Corner by Forever Love Rescue

Melody (black) and Rhapsody (tabby) are two sweet, little sisters who had a bit of a rough start as newborn stray kittens, both having a terrible eye infection; so bad in-fact that Rhapsody ended up losing one of her eyes. They are now completely and fully recovered, and while there might be some slight vision impairment, one would never know it as they are seen chasing one another throughout the house, bounding up and down the cat-tree, and batting their favorite toys around on the floor. Both girls are very friendly and affectionate. They are the first to greet their people in the morning or when they return home from being away, following, purring and simply wanting to be a part of the family. They both really enjoy their kitty-treats and wet-food, shamelessly trying to get their people to give them “just a little more, please.” They are quiet and clean - never any litter-box accidents. Melody, with her solid jet-black coat, and her endearing white whiskers, is the slightly more outgoing of the two: she loves to be pet, hugged and loved on, purring and purring the whole time. Rhapsody, with her strikingly beautiful and soft tabby coat, is just slightly more cautious in new situations, but once she is comfortable, she too loves to be pet, stroked and told what a good girl she is, purring and squinting her one little eye with pleasure. Melody and Rhapsody, while not bonded, nonetheless thoroughly enjoy one another’s company. They have not been around dogs or children, but with the proper and respectful introductions, these little girls would be wonderful additions to any family. Won’t you consider adding one - or both of them - to yours

Meet the #CatsOfGettysburg - Apply to adopt at bit.ly/AdoptFLR and we will help you find the purr-fect kitty for your family!

Visit dozens of our adoptable cats and kittens at our Kitty Corner adoption center 39 Queen St in historic Gettysburg PA on any Saturday or Sunday from 11am-3pm. All of the cats listed are located in or near Gettysburg unless otherwise noted.

Please note that while we work hard to keep our available cats up to date we also have many that are not posted yet.

Adoption fees are $60 for adult cats and kittens over 6 months old, $100 for kittens (under 6 months) and $30 for senior cats (7 years+) to help cover vet bills for spay/neuter, basic vaccinations, testing, microchips and preventatives.

No cat will be officially adopted without being spayed/neutered and vaccinated (unless there are health risks in doing so). We highly recommend adopting kittens in pairs and we do discount for double adoptions here to encourage it.

We are always in need of donations to help us continue to save hundreds of cats and kittens every year.
