Melody AVAILABLE UPDATED 11-9-2025 Melody! This absolutely adorable girl was born here at Cara. All her siblings were adopted several months ago and she's really hoping she'll find a home too. Melody has been overlooked because she has been timid since the beginning and will move to the back of her cage or to the corner of the playroom when you walk in. But please know she is misunderstood. And she isn't mean at all. We ask you to give her a chance and nicely move to her space and scoop her up in the play room or reach to the back of her cage and pet her. If you are calm and have kind words you will find out she is a true sweetheart. She loves being petted and purrs up a storm. Just keep loving on her and petting her and you will find a girl who melts and rolls over belly up to get more attention. She even makes biscuits. Melody is looking for a calm adult home where she can be your chair buddy, best friend, and companion. She is quiet, soft, beautiful, playful at times, gets along with other nice cats, she is spayed, microchipped, and up to date on vaccinations. C.A.R.A (Citizens for Animal Rescue and Adoption)'s Adoption Policy

Please email citizensanimalrescue@gmail.com for an application or use our online link. Once an application is approved you will be contacted to set up an appointment to visit the animals. If you let us know what you have in mind (age, gender, personality), we'll have several ready to meet. We are open to the public Monday-Friday 1-4PM and Saturday/other times by appointment. Please call 217-655-4353 or 217-799-8858 for appointments and questions. After you've met and decided on the pet for you, you will fill out the final paperwork and you will be able to take your pet home. All adopters must be able to meet and pick up their pet as we do not offer transportation. All pets are spayed/neutered, microchipped, and up to date on vaccinations.

C.A.R.A. is a 501(c)3 non-for-profit, No Kill animal shelter and rescue for homeless, injured/neglected or surrendered animals. Through community donations we are able to provide high quality care and rehabilitation for animals in our care.
