Meeka's Story

Meeka arrived here in July from Florida, a supersized obese gal in need of desperate veterinary care to address the condition MeowMix, and Hills Science Diet prescription diets caused, unable to walk, her knee and elbow joints unable to support her weight. Over the last 3 months, she's started her weight loss journey, and has made great progress with her mobility and muscle tone, despite having a long way to go. We are in need of a long term foster or adopter, who can continue to help her achieve her optimal healthy weight, of 12 lbs, with controlled meals, without her being able to gobble up the wet food of any other feline resident housemates. A very vocal gal, she will follow you around especially when she's hungry, and would love nothing more than climbing up and making herself your new sleeping partner nightly!

We are a "Protect the Pets" rescue with established nutritional protocols for our obligate carnivorous cats. We mandate responsible vaccination protocols and titer testing with Kansas State Veterinary Lab, in order to provide continuous protection and compliancy with the Rabies Control Act of South Carolina Rabies Statute Section 47-5-60. Please ensure your vet recognizes titers and is willing to offer affordable titer testing versus blindly overdosing pets with unnecessary vaccinations which contribute to the 50% national cancer rates being newly diagnosed annually in 10 million companion animals. The health of our pets is our main priority, and we require our nutritional and vaccination protocols be maintained. We will not allow our pets to be subjected to even a second unnecessary vaccination overdose, when checking titers can easily be incorporated into annual wellness exams for our animals.

The entire veterinary file always accompanies each of our cats upon adoption and we provide full transparency with the care we have provided.

Please contact Christine@Headbutthotel.org for our adoption paperwork.

Head Butt Hotel's Adoption Policy
We are proud to be South Carolina's premiere "Protect the Pets" Integrated nonprofit rescue organization. We mandate responsible vaccination protocols and titer testing prior to ever allowing our pets to be blindly administered more than one vaccination overdose in our pets' lifetimes. So if you consent and allow your vet to administer annual vaccinations (in fact mal-practice) in the absence of titer testing, please refrain from contacting us. The well being of our pets is our top priority so our protocols for proper nutrition and responsible vaccination practices to ensure no chance of overdosing and over vaccination of our pets, is our #1 objective along with their happiness. For further information on this very important issue, please feel free to contact us or refer to the Titers for Pets website, www.TitersforPets.org
