Meatloaf's Story

Meet Meatloaf, a good looking young buff tabby who along with many other cats were in a home, allowed to breed uncontrollably, and when the elderly owner died, no one to care for the cats. These indoor cats were forced out of the home into the outside with no shelter, food, water, etc. A terribly sad situation. Trappers were able to trap many cats and 10 of them have made their way to Second Chance.

Meatloaf is a bit skittish at the moment. Daily he is becoming more trusting of people. The way to his heart is with a Churu where he will allow pets and play. Meatloaf is very playful and loves to chase balls, jump for a wand toy, and run in and out of a tunnel. With patience and dedication Meatloaf will learn to like pets without treats and that play time means humans are fun. Meatloaf has a healthy appetite which helps because being food motivated means he is able to readily engage.

Meatloaf would do best in a quieter, routine home with a single adopter, a couple, or a family with older respectful kids. He needs a home that will engage in play with him everyday. Meatloaf has shown he can co-exist with other cats but he can be dominant with food.

Meatloaf has been neutered, vaccinated and microchipped. Meatloaf has an approximate birthdate of 05-29-2024. His adoption fee is $95.

If you are interested in Meatloaf or any of the cats at Second Chance Cats of West Michigan, go to sccatswm.org/adopt to fill out an application, or stop in during open hours on Fridays from 11-2 or Saturdays and Sundays from 11-4.

Please note - we can only adopt to those who live within a one hour drive of Grand Rapids.

Thank you!
