Meatloaf's Story
Meatloaf
6 years old
Spayed Female
Domestic Shorthair
18lbs

This big girl is VERY shy with strangers, but once she warms up, she's ready to take over your lap and life. Meatloaf definitely could stand to lose a couple pounds, but who are we to judge? She's just got more to love! Our vet says while she is definitely a chonky girl, she is in good health otherwise. She just likes her canned food more than most, and will keep eating if you let her.

Unfortunately Meatloaf's history is a sad one. She came to us from another organization where she had been kept in a small dog crate for the better part of 5 years. She had limited space to move around, and really only got to enjoy her meals. There were no comforts, no toys, no blankets- only hard plastic and metal bars. After a year with us, she has really been re-learning how to be a cat. She plays here and there, but often occupies the top of a blanket pile in our our laundry room. She's alllll about comfort now that she is free to stretch her legs as she pleases (though, the only place we think she'd ever run is to the fridge!).

Meatloaf really enjoys the company of other cats, but we think kids are likely too much noise and energy for this fat girl. She is ok with calm small dogs, but had a scary incident with a large rowdy dog early into her time at the rescue that has caused her to be a little fearful of pups bigger than her.

As a longterm resident of our Shy Cat Room, Meatloaf has become best friends with Goldy, another shy but sweet silver tabby female. The two love to nap together in the window or cat tree, and have been spotted giving each other baths often. To help keep these buddies together, Goldie can be adopted alongside Meatloaf for no additional cost.

Please send us a message if you'd like to meet Meatloaf!
