Mean Jean's Story

Mean Jean appears to be a young adult kitty that showed up at the home of one of our volunteers so she came to visit us and find a new home. Well, as she became comfortable it seems her true personality was coming out and I guess you know what this is judging by her name! Jean is fine with humans as long as you don't try to pick her up. She'll rub on your legs and she will sit nearby and snooze or interact with you. Jean was removed from our multi cat Cat House for roughness violations. So, she lives in the basement of the main house at Joyful Rescues. Actually, the feral/non adoptable kitties that live in the basement have access to a cat door that goes into the attached garage and then there is a cat door that goes outside. We are well aware that it is dangerous for a cat to be let outside, but like could be much worse for these special cats as they have warmth and sustenance. At this time there are 8 other cats in this multi-layer environment, and she is fine with them as there is a lot of room for anyone to be wherever they choose. Jean would also do fine in a decent barn environment, warehouse, etc. She is fine with all the other dogs she meets outside. She has been very healthy and goes potty outside and in the litter pan downstairs. She's a great cat for the right environment.
There is no ADOPTION FEE for Mean Jean.

Mean Jean is spayed, was vaccinated, and treated for fleas as needed.
.
We keep our pet list as up-to-date as possible. As soon as a pet is adopted, it is removed from the list. If a pet is still showing, it is still available for adoption.
Can't Adopt Me? Joyful Rescues's Adoption Policy
By adopting a pet you are not only helping the pet you adopt but also others in or needing to come into rescue. Your adoption helps us to keep doing what we do to help area animals stop reproducing and find quality homes for the homeless while providing them the best care we can. Your new family member will take considerable time, attention, patience and money to be properly cared for. Think of your new addition as your baby!! It is not a lawn ornament to be tied in your yard or kept in a basement. Consider the ultimate size of a young pet, how big of a pet can you handle?? Are you ready for an adult DOG or CAT in your family? If not, do not adopt a puppy or kitten - they grow up. Are you prepared for unexpec
