Mayday's Story

***If you can see me, I am still available! We prefer everything regarding adoption be done via email, this way we can answer any time or day! We like to have an application submitted before scheduling a visit but it's not required, an email conversation is great! If you don’t have access to email, no worries, please call 401 680 7591. We differ from other shelters by offering a one-on-one experience between you, our staff and the animal or animals you've chosen to become a new family member! When I arrived, the team found out I was already spayed (yay!) and I tested positive for FeLV (Feline Leukemia Virus). But wait—before you worry, here’s the thing:

? What does FeLV-positive mean?

It means I might have the virus… or I might not! Sometimes, kitties like me test positive after recent exposure but are actually fighting it off all on our own (ninja-style ??). That’s why I need to be retested in a few weeks, and maybe again after that, to be sure. There’s a real chance I’ll end up testing negative!

? What I need now:

I’m looking for a foster home where I can stay safe while I wait for my retests. Here's what that means for you:

I need to be kept separate from other cats (just for now!).

A small dog might be okay—let’s talk!

I’m already vaccinated, microchipped, dewormed, and spayed—ready to go!

All I need is a quiet place and a little love while we wait to see if I’m FeLV-free.

? Why foster me?

Because I deserve a chance—not a cage. And who knows? Maybe you’ll fall in love while you’re waiting for my test results. ?

Please ask about fostering Mayday today. Every day in the shelter matters, and I’d love to spend mine with you instead. ?

Check out Cheeseburger from Scruffy Paws here, went through the same process and was negative - the features of our faces sorta look the same, don't you think?! https://www.facebook.com/share/p/1CMp6e7E8h/
