Maya: Brave Survivor, Gentle Soul, Forever Friend<br/><br/>Hi, I’m Maya — a little cat with a big story. I was born on the streets of Bulgaria, where life isn’t easy for kittens like me. When I was just a few months old, I was badly injured, possibly from a dog attack. For a while, no one knew if I would survive. But with weeks of care, love, and a fighting spirit, I pulled through.<br/><br/>Now I wear a small scar on my face, but it’s just a reminder of how far I’ve come. It doesn’t stop me from eating neatly, chasing toys, leaping up to the tallest cupboards, or curling up close for snuggles. I’m a little shy in new places, but once I trust you, I’ll meet your eyes when you call my name and happily soak up every gentle pet and cuddle.<br/><br/>I’d do best with someone who has time to keep me company, or with a nurturing kitty friend. I can spend some time alone, but what I really love is 1:1 time with my person — your touch and love help me feel safe and even encourage me to eat more.<br/><br/>From the streets of Bulgaria to a foster home in San Francisco, my journey has been long, but it’s led me here — ready for a forever family who will see not just my scar, but my heart.
