Meet Maximus, a mighty name for a mighty heart! When Maximus first arrived at the shelter, he was feral, frightened, and unsure of humans. No one could get close; he had spent his life in survival mode, doing whatever it took to stay safe. But over the past few weeks, something incredible has happened: Maximus has completely transformed! Now he soaks up every bit of affection and sweetly asks you not to stop. It's been so amazing to see his life change so much! <br/><br/>This 2-year-old tabby with the adorably chunky face and trademark “resting mean mug” has discovered that people can be kind, and he is so here for it! These days, Maximus begs for attention and leans into affection like he’s making up for lost time. He’s curious, cuddly, and sweeter than his tough-guy look would ever suggest! <br/><br/>Maximus is still adjusting to this whole “cozy indoor life” thing, so he’ll thrive best as the only cat in the home (for now). He may have had rough experiences with dogs in the past, so a dog-free home is preferred or one with a very calm dog who truly understands boundaries would be best for him. Older children who can respect his space and continue to help build trust would be ideal. He’s come so far already, you'd never know he may not have had love before Lucky's Place.
