Max's Story

Max is a gentle, affectionate older boy with a soft heart and a world he experiences a little differently due to severe cataracts. Because of his partial blindness, he leans on sound, memory, and careful exploration to navigate new spaces.

At first, Max can be a bit scared as he takes time to map out both his environment and the people in it. Give him that quiet patience, and you’ll see the shift: the cautious hider melts into a devoted shadow, following the rhythm of your voice and settling in closer each day. Once he learns your voice he becomes one of the most affectionate cats you could hope to meet, happiest when he is being gently petted and included in your calm daily routine. He LOVES pets and will even rub against his Malamute Foster sister for love.

Max would thrive in a home that offers consistency, softness, and understanding of his visual limitations. A steady environment where he can learn his layout and feel secure will let his personality truly shine. In return, he offers deep companionship, gratitude, and that rare kind of bond only a cat who has learned to trust fully can give.

He does well with his XL Doggy Foster sister, other foster cats in the home and is litter box trained. While he has so far been great with a respectful 2 year old in the home, we think multiple small children may scare him too much so a home with older children would be appropriate for him. He is fully vaccinated, neutered, and has received flea and tick prevention. Max is ready for a peaceful forever home where he will be loved exactly as he is, and where he can spend his days as a cherished, well-cared-for companion.

Max is being fostered in Siloam Springs AR.

We have an application that must be filled out. We will contact you within 24 hours to review your application verbally and answer any questions you may have about a potential pet. After that we schedule a meet and greet with potential families. If the vibes are good we proceed with a foster to adopt trial- ALL adoptable animals must go through a 2 weeks trial. This gives the adopting family 2 weeks to decide if it's the right fit and provides a 2 week respite for the foster family while also holding the pet's foster spot open incase it is not the right fit! If it is the right fit then at the end of the 2 weeks we will sign adoption contracts and have adoption fees paid.
