Maven is a 4 1/2-year-old female that came to NAWS from an overcrowded shelter in southern Illinois. She was at risk of euthanasia and was luckily transported north to save her life and give her a second chance.

Maven hasn’t found her forever person yet. To be honest, she is not for everyone. She does not like children or loud/energetic people. She would prefer a quieter home with someone that is chill like her. Maven knows what she wants and likes, and if made uncomfortable, she can show a bit of sass. But in the right environment, where there is not a lot of commotion and she can be independent, we believe she will thrive.

If you are in the “Maven Club,” and she likes and accepts you, she is an affectionate and sweet friend. She loves pets and attention, especially scratches on her neck. She will share head bumps, purrs and sometimes even kisses with you. She has been around other cats in our Feline Hall and has had no issues unless they are a bit too wild for her and don’t give her some space. If they let her do her own thing, she has no problems with them. She spends her time out exploring for a little while, batting a few toys around, and then finding a comfy place to nap.

We laugh that Maven has a bit of a “resting cranky face,” to phrase it nicely. She has a bit of a snaggletooth which certainly does not help! We think it makes her look quirky and cute! Perhaps the cranky face is also the result of being at our rescue for too long and she is getting depressed.

We have not given up hope on finding a home for this unique girl. It just has to be the RIGHT home.

Want to help care for her while she waits to find her forever home? You can be a "Sponsor!" Click on the "sponsor" button on this profile and your one-time donation will be used for vital everyday essentials such as her food, litter and medical care! Thank you for helping save lives!

All NAWS cats are spayed/neutered, micro-chipped and up to date on vaccines.
