Maurice

Maurice is is an estimated 14 years old, seeking a calm home for his retired years. He is quite shy and reserved at first, but once he is comfortable, he showers you with love and affection.<br/><br/>He would do very well in a calm, quiet home. Perhaps with a retiree or someone who works from home and can provide him a stable and loving environment. He is an excellent work buddy and enjoys sitting in a chair next to my desk as I work from home, with the occasional hop onto the keyboard to help with emails (but really he wants you to pet him and give him kisses). He makes the sweetest little biscuits in soft fluffy blankets and he loves to curl up and watch movies together (he's a big fan of the Hallmark Channel!) <br/><br/>He does not appear to be a fan of dogs or rambunctious kitties, but he may do well with another calm feline friend. We believe he would do best without children. <br/><br/>He came into rescue with horrible teeth and had to have all of his teeth removed (which leads to his tongue sticking out periodically, ADORABLE!). He was also severely overweight (almost 15 pounds!) and while he has lost some weight with proper diet, he needs someone who is committed to providing wet food only (he seems to prefer Fancy Feast). He is FIV+ (which can lead to a decreased immune system). He currently has a clean bill of health, but he needs someone dedicated to feeding him set meals, maintaining his weight loss and ensuring he is in a stress free environment. When he is overly stressed, he does tend to overgroom and can create little sore spots on his back, but they clear up once he calms down. <br/><br/>He is beyond a joy, and deserved the very best.<br/><br/>His adoption fee is $75. He is neutered, microchipped, fully vaccinated. <br/><br/>7/23/2025 Update: Maurice and Pacha have decided they enjoy playing together and may make a great duo for someone looking for two kitties!
