Matilda's Story
This beautiful 4 year old girl is just FULL of PURRsonality. We are so happy that she found her way to our rescue. Now we just need to find her an amazing FURever home - maybe it could be with you?

Matilda was an offspring of a barn cat here on Salt Spring Island. They were well fed and cared for, all spayed and vaccinated, and had a warm and cozy barn to live in. But Matilda wanted more. She would approach the main house to try to get inside and be with the family. However, the resident house cats would have nothing to do with that and would chase Matilda back to the barn.

Poor Matilda decided to pack her bag and hitch a ride to a new home (her caretaker suspects that she must have hopped into a visiting vehicle). Several months after she was last seen in the barn, Matilda showed up a very long way from home - across the island. Fortunately, her microchip allowed us to figure out that it was her and we contact her registered caretaker. Her family was grateful that Matilda had been found, but asked us if we could find her a new home all of her own. We were so thrilled with that request.

Matilda is a quietly confident and quirky cat. You’ll have to meet her to see what we mean. She is ‘chirpy’, and doesn’t have a mean bone in her body. Matilda doesn’t seem bothered by the other cats in her foster home, but she really likes being cozy in her bed. She loves head scritches and having her tummy rubbed. Matilda seems to be very grateful that she isn’t forced to live in a barn anymore - especially as the weather is getting so cold and damp.

Matilda has been spayed, vaccinated (FVRCP and rabies), treated for fleas and parasites, microchipped, and tested for FIV / FeLV (negative results). If you would like to make an appointment to meet this cutie pie, please reach out to us: 236-508-2287 or info@catsofsaltspring.com

Matilda is SO EXCITED to meet you!
