Master Shifu's Story
Hello. I am Master Shifu, and I am here to help you improve your life. Many humans today are overwhelmed! Too much rushing, too much noise, not enough balance. Fortunately for you, I specialize in guiding my students toward a calmer, more fulfilling way of living.

Lesson one is mindfulness. Each day, you must take time to sit quietly, breathe deeply, and be present in the moment. This works best if you sit still... preferably on a comfortable couch or chair... with a cat resting beside you. I will handle that part. Your responsibility is to remain calm and provide gentle pets while we both focus on our inner peace.

Next comes self-care. Many neglect this step, but grooming is one of the best ways to reduce stress. Take a brush and gently work along the chin and cheeks. Slow strokes. If done correctly, you'll hear purring and receive an approving head bump... both excellent indicators that I am feeling better.

Routine is also very important. Setting aside time each day for focused activity helps maintain balance. In one of our training sessions, I will show you how to properly use a cat wand. You will hold it, move it skillfully, and I will demonstrate the chasing. This exercise improves coordination, patience, and your ability to properly entertain a master.

A wise student also learns to choose the right tools. I have a condition called pica, which means I sometimes become a little too enthusiastic about chewing things that are not food. Because of this, my program avoids tassels, fabric toys, and scratchers. Hard balls and other sturdy toys are much better choices and help keep the curriculum safe and successful.

A peaceful environment will help you progress faster in your studies. I tend to do my best work in calm homes without dogs or energetic kittens, though a respectful adult cat who appreciates quiet study may be welcome into my lifestyle course.

If you follow these teachings carefully, you may soon discover your life becoming calmer, happier, and much more centered around the care and well-being of a very wise cat. I am ready to begin guiding a new student whenever you are.

Your training begins the moment you bring me home.

--Master Shifu
Please visit https://felinerescue.org/all-cats/ to learn more about me and where I am located!
