Mason Paddington's Story

Mason’s life was nearly cut short-he was placed on the euthanasia timestamp list due to his medical needs. Thankfully, he was rescued just in time and now has a second chance at life.

Mason is a sweet but very shy boy who will need a patient and understanding adopter to help him feel safe. When he first arrived in foster care, he hid constantly and it took nearly a month before he felt comfortable enough to accept pets. With time, love, and patience, he’s begun to show his gentle personality.

He’s very food motivated and loves spending time on the cat tree, where he feels secure and can watch the world around him. Mason also enjoys being brushed, which has become one of his favorite ways to bond with his foster.

Mason has chronic urinary issues, so he’ll need to stay on a prescription diet and continue with medical management to keep him healthy. Stress can make his condition flare up, so he’ll do best in a calm, low stress home. He has lived with dogs and cats, and does well with them.

Mason has already overcome so much and is ready to find a forever family who will give him the stability and love he deserves. Familiar Hearts Animal Society's Adoption Policy
We always have potential adopters fill out our adoption application first so we can first vet them and make sure we approve of them as adopters before then inviting them to meet the animal(s) they are interested in. We feel this not only saves time for our fosters, it helps us get to know the applicant better and better be able to match them with the potential pet that is best for them. We always make sure everyone has a lot of time to deeply consider the adoption before finalizing it. The adoption is considered finalized after the adoption contract is reviewed and signed and the fee is paid. We then tranfer all the vet records and microchip information to the new family. We also offer behavioral support before and after adoption and one free training session with our dog trainer for dog adopters.
