Meet Martini
This handsome fella is Martini (because he's shaken but not stirred). We think he's around 4 months old.
Martini was part of a feral colony and some kind people noticed he was struggling to keep up with the other kitties - he had balance issues and was struggling. They caught him and brought him to our partners at Chow Hound who contacted us.
We took Martini to our vet and he was diagnosed as healthy but has a syndrome called Cerebellar Hypoplasia. This is otherwise known as "wobbly kitten" syndrome. All this means is the mom got sick when she was pregnant and, as a result, his cerebellum didn't fully form and he has issues with balance and tremors. His balance might get better as he gets older but it might not. He'll never be "cured" but can live a long and wonderful life.
We've had a few wobbly kittens at the rescue and, so far, Martini is one of the more severe cases we've seen.
He is a happy, curious, VERY playful guy. He loves wand toys and chasing little mice. He would not do well outside and must always remain an indoor cat (as must ALL of our adopted kitties). The only other "special" considerations for his care are he should not have access to stairs and he can often eat and drink better with a raised food bowl.
Martini is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, FIV/Felv negative and has been dewormed and given flea/tick treatment.
