MARTIN

MARTIN was a stray that a volunteer had been feeding since December. He was a bit shy and made a softly rumble/growly noise at first, but by softly talking to him, this soft grey panther turned into a shy pussy cat who loves to be petted. He loves to sit on your lap!<br/><br/>MARTIN does not like other male cats, probably from his days of being stray and having to be tough. He doesn't mind female cats, as long as they aren't aggressive. Not sure about Dogs. He does seem to want to be in charge, so may not do well with them. He would probably prefer to be the only pet, so he doesn't have to share food or affection. Children need to be older and understand that Martin may play but probably will not be a playmate as much as eventually a bed partner. <br/><br/>Given he had been on his own for at least several months, we had to, at first, approach him calmly, and softly until he learned to trust. He is so handsome, he doesn't appear to have lived too long as a stray, but it may have been a while since he has known a loving touch. At the shelter, he has come to love cheek and ear scratches. Not a fan of being picked up. He is very sweet when he is getting attention.<br/> <br/>MARTIN obviously has gone through a lot in his short lifetime and will need a patient guardian to let him readjust to yet another new situation.
