Marshmellow's Story

Hi everyone… my name is Marshmellow, and if you’re wondering—yes, I live up to my name. I’m a big, sweet, soft boy who melts right into your arms the second you hold me. I’m four years old, and honestly, I just want someone to love… someone who won’t let me go again.

My story has been a little bumpy. Last year, my first person and I lost our housing, and that’s how I first came to the shelter. I was scared, but I was loved—and then I was adopted by someone who said they adored me, too. But somewhere along the way, things went wrong. I got lost in the shuffle and ended up at the Exeter Animal Shelter. Luckily, they got me safely back to the people who knew my story.

No one really knows why I didn’t stay in my last home… all we can guess is that I now need a special UR urinary diet. It’s not scary—I promise. It’s just special food that keeps my bladder healthy by preventing crystals and stones. I can live a completely normal, happy life on it. Maybe my last humans didn’t realize how simple it is… or how worth it I am.

I’m a little bit exotic, too— I may have some Russian White in me? Maybe that’s why my fur is so soft. Or maybe I’m just built for cuddles. I love kids and have lived happily with them, and I might do well with other friendly pets too. I’m gentle. I’m affectionate. And I want so badly to finally feel like I’m home.

Guess what. Someone loved me and my story so much, and wanted to help me get my forever home, that there was a donation towards my adoption fee for the right home and owner. How wonderful is that?

I won’t pretend—I’m sad to be back at the shelter. I don’t want my heart to be a revolving door. I want a forever family. Someone who sees me… holds me… and doesn’t let me slip away again.
If you’re looking for a loving, loyal, melt-in-your-arms companion, please come meet me. I’ve been waiting for someone just like you.

Love,?
