Marscapone's Story

Marscapone is the cutest little cheeselet with the most unique coat: a classic tuxie with a salt-and-pepper twist! Mars loves other cats, especially her mama, Gorgonzola (Zola for short!), and we'd love to see this sweet pair find their forever home together. At a minimum, Mars must go to a home with another friendly cat (or kitten) -- no exceptions here, I'm afraid! Marscapone is about 3.5 months old, up to date on her vaccines, and negative for FIV and FeLV. She will be spayed and microchipped in November as part of her adoption package. Backyard Cats of Bed-Stuy's Adoption Policy

I ask that everyone interested in adopting a cat from me starts the application process by filling out my adoption application! The more details you can provide, the better. You can find the app here: https://www.backyardcatsofbedstuy.com/adoption-application Once I've received your application, if I'm interested in moving forward I'll reach out to schedule a Zoom call (or sometimes an in-person meeting, where possible). I often have the foster join as well to talk more specifically about each cat's personality and needs. If the meet-and-greet goes well, and if requested, the potential adopter can arrange a time to meet the cat(s) at their foster homes, or they can start out with a trial "foster-to-adopt" period of one month, to make sure it is a good fit for both cats and humans. A cat isn't considered "fully adopted" until they have been through proper vetting (spayed or neutered, given rabies and FVRCP vaccines, tested for FeLV and FIV, microchipped, and dewormed and treated for fleas). I love to stay in touch with my adopters and often receive updates about their new pets thriving in their forever homes!

I am an independent rescuer based in Bedford-Stuyvesant, Brooklyn who has been rescuing abandoned and feral cats and kittens from backyards, front yards, sidewalks, parking lots, and abandoned buildings since 2020. My goal is to help every cat I meet live his or her best life -- safe, warm, and preferably in someone's lap. ...
