Marquis's Story

Please read through the entire posting and requirements before applying via our questionnaire at https://alleycatproject.org/adopt
Please do not submit an inquiry via Petfinder.

Meet Marquis, a shy, but gentle and playful boy! He is approximately 1-2 years old.

He is a brown mackerel domestic short hair tabby who loves to hang out with his foster brother, chase butterfly wands & rattling mouse toys, and get lots of chin and head scratches. His favorite things include Churu and his big rattling mouse toy.

He was initially very timid, but he has come out of his shell with the help of his friendly foster brother. He is very much a cat’s cat who loves being around other kitties. He can still be timid and wary at times, but after a little bit of warming up he will come for pets and nuzzles, where he particularly enjoys licking Churu or wet food off of your hand. He can be nervous around strangers, but he has done well with other volunteers visiting while his foster parent was away.

He will do very well in a home with a friendly cat and will need his own small quiet space to allow him to adjust and gain comfort in his forever home.

What Marquis is looking for in a home:

- He is new to indoor life with humans, so he needs a kind and patient guide to help him continue adjusting. Loud noises, fast movements, and strangers make him nervous.
- He will need extra time and TLC to build trust.
- He has lots of energy and will benefit from plenty of active play time.
- He feels at ease in a quiet and calm environment.
- He needs to live indoors only.
- He has a positive history with other cats and will like having a feline friend close to his age.
- He would prefer not to have dogs in the home.
- He needs children to respect his space.

All Alley Cat Project’s cats are spayed/neutered, microchipped, and vaccinated prior to adoption.

Alley Cat Project adoption fees are:
$200 per cat or kitten
$350 for pair of cats or kittens
$50 for senior cat (over 8 years old)
Additional charitable donations are appreciated and support our overall rescue efforts

Thank you for your interest in adopting Marquis! If your household fits the above criteria, you can apply to adopt him by filling out this questionnaire: https://alleycatproject.org/adopt

Only applicants who complete the questionnaire will be considered.
