Marla's Story

Update March 20th - Marla is at the Pet Valu, 610 King St W in Hamilton. go pay this cutie a visit. She loves her wand toys and catnip.
Please read Marla's bio, requirements for adoption and if you think she would be a good fit then go to avacats.org and fill out an online application form.

Marla was adopted back in June of 2023 - she went to a home with no children and another cat ( who she never really adapted too much) Fast forward Feb 2026 - Marla has been surrendered back to us - her family had had a baby and another one is on the way. She is not happy and has shown her disapproval with inappropriate behaviour. I don't think Marla was every happy in that home even from the beginning. She had been a very sweet outgoing cat when she was adopted now she is a different cat - shy, and unsure. She needs to go to a home with no young children or no expected babies and no other cats. She has been to our vet for another urinalysis - negative, been flea treated, dewormed, booster FVCRP vaccine and rabies. Her adoption fee is $250. She is a very sweet cat who loves to cuddle . We are looking for a home to give her the patience she needs to adjust to a new surrounding. She has been in a foster home for almost a month and had had no issues. Her original story is below.

Marla came in to our rescue May 2023 she had been found in a park, starving, crying and running up to people. She went to our vet to be scanned - no microchip and she hadn't been spayed. She went to a foster home while we looked for owners, none were found so she went back to the vet for a flea treatment, deworming, received her FVCRP and rabies vaccines, spayed and microchipped. Marla is a very sweet, loving , purr machine who is enjoying her soft bed, toys and her treats.
