Mara's Story

When Mara's person passed away, the trustee asked if we had room for Mara. We made room for this nine-year-old sweetheart. She has never been around other cats (although she did have a dog friend), so she hangs out in a cat tree in a side room. Please ask to meet her when you come to the cafe-- she loves people and being petted!

We ask that potential adopters make several visits to our cafe to interact with the cats before choosing one. They will then fill out an application, which is screened by our board of directors. We will contact the potential adopter to discuss the application and set up a time for a home visit. Once the home visit is completed, the adopter signs a contract and pays the adoption fee. The cat is given to the adopter at that time.
