MAPLE's Story

Maple came to us young, nervous, and pregnant, and now that her kittens have found their forever home it is her turn.<br/>Maple has come a long way from being scared and untouchable to being enthusiastically vocal about her meals and a lover of back scratches and all kinds of treats. She does not enjoy being picked up or having her belly touched, but being with other cats has helped her to be more social and to learn how to play, and she can either be adopted with her friend Muñeca or must go into a home that already has another cat for her to bond with.

Rhode Island Feline Rescue's Adoption Policy
We have a very detailed Adoption Application as well as an adoption coordinator system. Once an application is received, it will be reviewed by the adoption coordinator, vet records confirmed, residence status, renting/landlord information, pet permission, and employment verified then the coordinator conducts an interview with the potential adopter. If deemed a good match, the adoption coordinator forwards the information about the potential adopter to the foster. If the foster also agrees then they will have a meet and greet. At the completion of the meeting, if both parties agree the cat/kittens is a good fit an adoption contract is signed, and the adoption fee paid. We do not adopt on a first come, first served basis. All the cats and kittens in our care receive the following: checkup, spay/neuter, rabies & distemper vaccines, de-worming medicine, flea preventative, microchip, and Felv/FIV test.
