Mango III's Story

Mango is a very friendly, loving, easy-going cat who is sure to steal your heart the minute you meet her. Her foster describes her as 'the sweetest ever' and 'a purring machine.' Mango is friendly to everyone she meets and loves to be where her people are, often stretched out on the couch like she owns it!

At almost eight years old, Mango is past her days of running wild and climbing bookshelves, but she still climbs to the very top of her cat tree for an afternoon nap. She likes to chill on the couch with her people, show off her soft belly, and sometimes she sleeps curled up next to her humans in bed.

Mango loves affection so much, she will practically push another cat out of the way so SHE can be the center of attention and get all those sweet ear scritches and face rubs. She's great with kids of all ages and wonderful with other cats. Are you ready to meet your new bestie?

Mango is FIV+. FIV is a virus that can cause a weakened immune system, but most FIV+ cats live normal lives with no difference in lifespan compared to other cats. FIV is spread only through deep bite wounds or mating, so thereâ€ÂTMs minimal risk to other cats in the home, especially since all DPA cats are spayed/neutered prior to adoption. We recommend slow introductions when bringing home any new pet and can provide resources and guidance for a peaceful transition. Regular vet visits to detect illnesses early are important for FIV+ cats, but many FIV+ cats will live long, healthy lives with little to no symptoms.

All Dallas Pets Alive adoptable pets are spayed or neutered, microchipped, and up to date on vaccines upon adoption. The standard minimum donation for cats over six months to seven years is $100, kittens under six months is $150, cats eight years and over are $50 unless specified otherwise. You can view all the adoptable pets and fill out an adoption application online on our website at http://dallaspetsalive.org/adopt/adoptable-cats/ .
