Mamba's Story

Meet Mamba, a sleek, sweet girl with striking green eyes and a little tuft of white on her chest, who came to Second Chance from a hoarding situation with 8 other kittens, some of whom are her siblings. Mamba was well cared for in her home but after the number of cats swelled to 25, the owner who was in failing health was no longer able to care for them.

Mamba is shy but accepts and likes pets. If you sit next to her and give her gentle pets she rubs your hand and rolls around expressing how much she enjoys the attention. She is very motivated by Churu and wet food. Mamba is definitely champion of the clean plate club. She tends to like a cubby as she feels safe there but ventures out into her room more where she has shown a bit of a silly side.

An adopter willing to give her a very open, accessible "cubby", one where Mamba feels "safe" but yet gives the adopter easy access to her would be ideal. She would love nothing better to feel slightly protected and receive lots of pets from her adopter. We know over time and given a patient, loving adopter, Mamba will become less shy. Mamba is very gentle and unassuming but will blossom in a home of her own. She is looking for that special someone to recognize her potential and give her a chance.

Mamba likes and finds comfort with other cats. She would do best either adopted with a current roommate like her sister Helena or go to a home with an existing cat looking for a friend.

Mamba has been spayed, vaccinated and microchipped. Her adoption fee is $95. Mamba has an approximate birthdate of 06/01/24.

If you are interested in Mamba or any of the cats at Second Chance Cats of West Michigan, go to sccatswm.org/adopt to fill out an application, or stop in during open hours on Fridays from 11-2 or Saturdays and Sundays from 11-4.

Please note - we can only adopt to those who live within a one hour drive of Grand Rapids.
