She came to her foster family the same night she gave birth. Very little is known about her history except that when she was ready to give birth, she found a family and followed them home–she knew, it seemed, that she would need a safe place and a family was safe. She was an excellent mama from day 1, making nests for her babies, talking to them, nursing them. Even today as they approach 7 months old, she’ll occasionally nurse one of them and if she calls them, they come running. We believe Mama Mistletoe is about 2 years old. <br/><br/>Mama Mistletoe is still playful herself and loves to wrestle a fake mouse toy, or one of her kittens. She would love to be an indoor/outdoor cat as she remembers how exciting it is to be in the great outdoors. She has a wonderful relationship with her babies, but does not seem open to building a relationship with any other cats. She is very dog savvy and will establish those relationship dynamics quickly with a few swats to the pup, but then can happily co-exist. She loves to be brushed or to have her back stroked and she will rub up against your legs, but she does not otherwise snuggle at this time. She does not like to be picked up, but she will tolerate it, only wiggling to get down. <br/><br/>The Mistletoe litter was born to Mama Mistletoe on April 28th, 2025. Available for adoption are Mama Mistletoe, and baby Maple. They are a sweet family always snuggling, playing, and grooming each other and Mistletoe would love to go to her new home with one of her kittens.<br/><br/>If interested in adopting this kitty, we ask that you please fill out an adoption application.
