Mama & Lola - A MOTHER’S LOVE, A DAUGHTER’S HOPE's Story
Their story started with love, but took an unexpected turn. Meet sweet 6-year-old Mama, and her precious 5-year-old daughter, Lola. Their beloved owner, in her 90s, sadly passed away, leaving these two girls in a vulnerable position.

Tragically, the initial thought was to take them to the vet to be put to sleep, but a kind-hearted Good Samaritan stepped in, determined to find them a loving future. After facing 13 rejections from other rescues, Must Love Cats Rescue answered their plea and opened their hearts and home.

Mama is a friendly and playful girl who is making up for lost time! Her only "toy" for years was a sock, but now she's discovering the joy of real cat toys – and as you can see in the video, she absolutely loves her teaser! She's soaking up all the love and attention she's now receiving.

Lola, on the other hand, had a different experience with her previous owner. Sadly, she wasn't handled much and is understandably nervous around people. However, in her foster home, she is slowly but surely blossoming and learning to trust. Her sweet nature is shining through!

When they arrived at Must Love Cats, both girls were in rough shape. Lola had an eye infection, and both had sores that required shaving and treatment. Thankfully, they are now on the mend and feeling much better! They both love being brushed.

Important Note: Mama is FIV+, but Lola is negative. FIV+ cats can live long and happy lives with proper care and don't typically transmit the virus through casual contact.

Through everything they've been through, Mama and Lola have remained a bonded pair. They find comfort and security in each other's presence and rely on one another. Therefore, we are looking for a very special and patient family who is willing to open their hearts and home to both of these deserving girls.

They are not mean-spirited in the slightest – they simply need time, understanding, and gentle encouragement to fully trust and blossom. Their foster family has teenage children, and they do very well with them, showing their potential to be wonderful family members. Because they are still learning to trust, we believe they would not do well with young children at this time. While they are used to each other they have not been tested with other cats, so they would need calm feline siblings who are patient and passive as they gain their confidence.

If you have a calm and loving home and the patience to help these two beautiful souls continue to heal and grow into the confident and affectionate cats they long to be, please consider opening your heart to Mama and Lola.

To learn more and arrange a meet-and-greet, please contact Must Love Cats Rescue. Give these deserving girls the furrever home they truly deserve! Must Love Cats also has a 30 day foster-to-adopt program for its adult cats.
