Mama Dove is full of love. She is a snuggler but takes a while to gain trust. She is skittish around any sort of movement or loud noises but once she gets to know you, all she wants to do is sit in your lap and get head scratches.<br/><br/>She does not like to be picked up but Mama Dove likes to be held if you’re sitting and she comes up for scratches.<br/><br/>She will likely take around a month to get used to you and will hide for most of the time in the beginning. Familiar Hearts Animal Society's Adoption Policy
We always have potential adopters fill out our adoption application first so we can first vet them and make sure we approve of them as adopters before then inviting them to meet the animal(s) they are interested in. We feel this not only saves time for our fosters, it helps us get to know the applicant better and better be able to match them with the potential pet that is best for them. We always make sure everyone has a lot of time to deeply consider the adoption before finalizing it. The adoption is considered finalized after the adoption contract is reviewed and signed and the fee is paid. We then tranfer all the vet records and microchip information to the new family. We also offer behavioral support before and after adoption and one free training session with our dog trainer for dog adopters.
