Maleficient's Story

Hi there, my name is Maleficient. I know my name might sound a little mysterious, but I promise I'm more sweetheart than sorceress. I'm a short-haired black and white lady, born approximately 5/2/2020, and while I may have a bit of a dramatic flair now and then, it's usually just my way of expressing myself when something new or unexpected happens. I like to talk about how I'm feeling, especially when changes throw me off a little. But once I've had time to settle in and get to know you, I'm affectionate, gentle, and I truly enjoy quiet companionship.
My early life taught me to be cautious. I grew up in an abandoned home that had been damaged by fire, left behind with no one to look out for me. So, I learned to protect myself and to be alert to my surroundings. Since coming to Wild Blue Cats, I've made a lot of progress; I now enjoy my indoor life, the steady rhythm of daily routines, and especially the good food! I'm still not a fan of loud noises or fast movements, and I do best in a calm, consistent environment where I can feel secure. What I really dream of is a peaceful forever home with patient humans who will let me adjust in my own time, without pressure. I may not be a lap cat right away, but I love having my own cozy spot in a sunny window where I can nap and watch the world go by.
I've also formed a special bond with a fellow quiet soul, Ban'ei. We were adopted together once before but unfortunately, both of us became very uneasy around men. Since then, we've realized that we feel safest and happiest in the company of a gentle woman who understands shy cats like us. Ban'ei and I have become close friends and our personalities complement each other beautifully, and we would truly love the chance to be adopted together again, this time into the right fit. If you're a calm, kind-hearted woman with a peaceful home and a patient spirit, we could be the perfect match. We'd love to share your quiet life, offering quiet companionship and the slow bloom of trust that makes rescue so rewarding. If you think we might belong together, please fill out an application at www.wbcats.org/adopt. We can't wait to meet the woman who'll help us feel truly at home.
