Malakai's Story
Malakai was rescued as an outside cat and has really embraced being a beloved indoor kitty. His two loves in life are laps and belly rubs, and even better, belly rubs ON laps. He likes hanging out in a sunny spot on the couch during the day, and joins his humans and resident cat's cuddle pile in the evening. But at anytime if you pick him up and place him on your lap and rub his cheeks, he will melt into your lap. Malakai does like his meals (and his treats!) but he's not rude or pushy about it: unlike some cats, he doesn't beg for food, and waits patiently when he knows it gets close to his meal time.

Malakai is gradually getting used to normal house sounds and he is becoming a confident cat: while he may try to get away from noises he doesn't like, he doesn't hide, just gets a little skittish. But as soon as you call him over to reassure him, he trots back, his tail high. We think he would do well with any family, except perhaps with young children who tend to move quickly and unpredictably. He's fine with another cat and also fine on his own. Malakai is really a perfect chill guy if you are looking for a chill companion. He's cool with being carried like a baby, being held on your lap for a video and even nail trimming! No unhappy sounds, no trying to get out, just... chill.

Estimated DOB: 6/22/2022

To see more fun videos of Malakai, just copy these links into your browser:
https://www.youtube.com/shorts/P--J6ssK4b8
https://youtube.com/shorts/YcXoTtaEdmY?feature=share
